Members can submit text stories with flexible formatting.
Members can upload images from their desktop and attach them to their story. Supports all major file types, with automatic formatting for display on the site.
Members can submit videos in various formats. Supported file types are .avi, .mov, .wmv, and .mpg. Videos are played on a custom video player with full playback and user controls. Flash format assures widest possible compatibility and great video quality.
Members may also submit documents in .pdf format that can be viewed in the browser window or downloaded to the desktop.
Members have the abilty designate the category of their posts and apply tags, aiding sorting and organization.
Members have the option of selecting a location and a neighborhood. The chosen neighborhood will be displayed in their profile and helps them discover other members of their community.
When a member submits a story they may select the location and neighborhood of where their story happened, which will be displayed on their story's main page.
Every story with a location can be seen on the Stories-Map page. Viewers can easily navigate through the map to find the news that happens in their area.
Each neighborhood has its own page with a map showing it's location, a list of members, and every story that has occurred there.
All submitted content is subject to voting. Members can rate content by chosing stars (one to five). Instant Journalist tracks the ratings and vote count for all content and uses them for sorting and organization.
Members can easily leave comments and start discussions about any of the content submitted to your site. Any visitor to your site can view the ratings and comments.
Members can upload a profile picture, display their neighborhood name, and write a message to introduce themselves to others.
All of the content that the member has submitted can be accessed. Stories, videos, and pictures can be viewed in list or table format for easy browsing.
